Lillian "Honeybadger"

About Honeybadger

Hello, my name is Lillian, but you can call me Honey badger due to my straight-forward, no-drama and eccentric personality.

I have been a professional artist since 1994; selling anime fan art at anime conventions. I became a graphic designer in 1999 for a small art firm, did some free lance art, and worked as an inker/colorist for a webcomic called “Erfworld” for a couple of years.

I became a tattoo apprentice in 2002, studied at JD Crowe’s studio in Yorktown, VA, and have been tattooing ever since. I love the human aspects of tattoo; the interaction, the exchange of perspectives, stories and feelings. I work best when I can spend time to establish human connections and really connect with my client’s ideas and feelings.

My art backgrounds are in Chinese watercolor, Japanese Sumi-E, Chinese Calligraphy, anime, Neoclassicism, art deco, surrealism, gothic, realism and Renaissance.

My mediums preferences are pencil, pen, charcoal, color pencil, ink, watercolor, acrylic, wood burning, print, digital and collage.

My specialty is being versatile and flexible at different types of art and medium. Because I see art as a form of visual communication, learning different styles is like learning different languages; they all help paint a better, more expressive image.
